What foods are good to grill with Apple Wood?

Answer:
Food tastes vary as widely as any individual preferences,
and grilling with various woods to enhance the flavor of the foods being prepared is no exception.

There are no hard-and-fast rules for some of these things, although there are some tried and true suggestions which have risen to the top of the experimentations performed by grillers around the globe.

Grillers who use wood to add flavor to foods tend to agree on some certain preferences regarding which woods are best for which foods; sort of like how one might make a wine selection based on the kind of foods it will be served with.

Some "connosseurs" of wood-flavor-enhancement grilling practices may insist that only certain woods should be used with certain foods, but hey...we can't be afraid to live a little, either!

The most common meats for which apple wood is used when grilling are:

Chicken, turkey, ham, pork (chops, ribs, etc.), salmon, halibut, some other fish meats.  Don't be afraid to grill your companion veggies over the apple wood, too; there's nothing wrong with a little "fruitiness" to enjoy grilled summer squash or other favorite.

There are numerous recipes available for using wood when grilling certain foods.  Some of these  suggest soaking the wood in water prior to grilling, to help extract the flavoring through a "steaming" process when the wood is heated in the grill.  Other recipes include creative seasoning concoctions, also intended to enhance the overall flavor of the foods being grilled.

Hmmmmm.....sometimes I wonder if it's the food we're interested in, or the enhancements!?

Enjoy safe, happy and tasty apple wood grilling!
