What is a Latte? |
|
Answer:
Latte is the Italian word for milk. But in English-speaking Latte contains one-third espresso, with two-thirds of steamed milk topped up with a centimeter of milk froth. The froth is placed on the latte with a spoon, unlike in cappuccino where the frothed milk is poured directly into the drink. The froth can take the form of simple designs, called latte art. The term latte is of recent coinage, possible born in the United States in the 1980’s in Seattle, and later made popular by the brand Starbucks.
