What is a Mocha? |

Answer:
Think chocolate and strong coffee, and you have the A latte is a combination of espresso and steamed milk. The famed Starbucks creates a mocha made of a shot of espresso, enough chocolate syrup to cover the bottom of a cup, steamed milk, whipped cream, a dusting of chocolate powder, and when requested, marshmallows. For the novice, espresso is almost a coffee extract, very strong and robust, made by pressuring hot water forcefully through finely ground coffee beans. I love a good cup of coffee, complete with cream and sugar, so a cafe mocha or mocha latte would be right up my alley. Toss in a double squirt of whipped cream, and it's a real cold weather treat. According to some sources, the coffee-chocolate combination was identified as mocha as early as the beginning of the 19th century. I discovered mocha originally referred to high-quality coffee beans grown in the Middle East. They came from the coastal town of Mocha, Yemen, near the Red Sea, where coffee beans have been raised for centuries. Moccacino is the term used in the Middle East and some European regions to describe cafe mocha or mocha latte. Trackback(0)
