What is Kona Coffee?

Answer:
Kona Coffee is a variety of coffee only grown
successfully on the Big Hawaii Island slopes of Mount Hualalai and Mauna Loa, and only coffees grown here can be called Kona coffee.

Coffee is not native to Hawaii and was brought here in the 1800s from Brazil, and took well to the rich volcanic soil and the mild tropical climate.

The low yield of 12 pounds of quality roast beans per 100 pounds of berries and its strong flavor of wine and spice make Kona coffee much sought after by coffee aficionados.

It is one of the premium and exclusive coffees in the world.
