What is salt?

Answer:
Salt is a dietary mineral composed of
Sodium Chloride that is essential for animal life but toxic to most land plants.

Salt comes in three types:  Unrefined salt, also known as Sea Salt; Refined Salt, also known as Table Salt; and Iodized Salt.

Sodium is one of the primary electrolytes in the body.  All four cationic electrolytes - sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium - are available in unrefined salt and, along with other vital nutrients, are required for bodily function.
