What is Pomegranate?

Answer:
Pomegranate is a fruit-bearing tree or shrub growing between 15 and 25 feet tall.

 

What is Pesto?

Answer:
Pesto is a condiment type sauce made from crushed basil, garlic, salt, pine nuts, and olive oil.  Traditional pesto was first created in northern regions of Italy.


 

What is Injera?

Answer:
Injera, or enjera, is a flat bread resembling a pancake, that is made of teff flour.  This bread is part of Ethiopian and Eritrean cuisine, and is also eaten in Somalia, where it is called canjeero or laxoox. 


 

What is Ghee?

Answer:
A type of clarified butter from the Indian subcontinent, ghee is used in cuisine from many different countries.  In addition, ghee is used in various Hindu and Vedic rituals, as well as in funerals, marriages, and fuel for a Hindu votive lamp.  Ghee is actually used in sacrifices in Hinduism, along with the four sacred substances: milk, sugar, honey, and yogurt.


 

What is Okra?

Answer:
Okra is a plant with many alternate names, including bhindi, gumbo, and ladyfinger.  The plant, in the same family as cocoa, cotton, and hibiscus, produces green fruit that is edible, and in fact, quite nutritious.  Okra is possibly best known in the United States as a traditionally Southern food, either fried or as an ingredient in gumbo.
