What is Champagne?

Answer:
Champagne is a sparkling white wine produced
through various combinations of the Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay grapes in a region called Champagne, in the far north of France near Paris.

Champagnes are bubbly drinks for special occasions, served in thin flutes at about 40oF, and the best champagnes contain the smallest and the longest-lasting bubbles. The best variety, the prestige cuvee, uses grape juices from one specific good year from the first pressing. If all the grapes of one specific good year are used, vintage champagne is produced; and if grapes from several years are blended, it is called non-vintage champagne.
